Love in real life...as written by the romantic who is currently NOT in Love....
LOVE:
1. Say it often, I LOVE YOU...and mean it. To go even further, say specifically what you love about this person, honey, baby, sweetie...I love it when we do or you say or do....maybe its just nothing....I love when you do nothing baby...
2. Invest in dry erase markers...you are going to need them. Use them often..by writing love notes in the places he or she least expects it! On the mirror in the bathroom..on the butter door in the fridge, on their windshield, on their laptop screen (?)...just do it..randomly..maybe even its an invite into something seductive when you get home from work....
3. Before he or she takes that business trip..slip a note in their bag...a simple I miss you honey, travel safe..I love you...or go one step further..include a little picture (something naughty perhaps?)
4. Give it UP often...dont be stingy..like seriously..IT has been proven medically to be good for the soul, mind and body...
5. When you absolutely MUST argue (and I dont wish this) do it naked! Yes, naked..just how far are you going to get when you are standing in the kitchen or hallway or bedroom stark naked..it's just going to make things a tad bit easier...
6. Run his or her bath water...light a few candles and just let he or she be...your love will thank you later for this act... after all we all need a little peace and serenity in our lives no matter how much you LOVE your mate.
7. Listen first...just listen...and really hear what your mate is trying to say...we all need to be heard and sometimes we just aren't listened to enough.
8. Make a cd or playlist of their favorite songs and stick it in their car...you might go so far as to even record a little intro of you telling he or she just how much you love them...they will be pleasantly surprised when they turn that on!
9. Take a shower/bath with your mate...when was the last time you had someone else bathe you (childhood)? Kings and Queens had this done all the time...we should too! Something about this just screams ooohh la la!
10. Write your mate a letter..yes pen to paper....write it and put it in the mail..send it to their office ...personalized mail still and always will trump emails, text and voicemails! While we still have post office, letters, stamps we should not be afraid to use a stamp a time or two. It just shows and extra special step....go ahead do it...
