Why texting has gone too far...

Yes, it has gone too far....and I've decided not to take it any longer...

It seems that with the invention of texting...we have lost so much of what we use to have...

Light conversations about nothing...or better yet the ability to pull the plug and be disconnected for a time being...(note this is a good thing)

Though I get it...I'm busy at work...your busy at work...your running late...I am running late...a quick I am thinking of you...are we still on tonight? Did you see that turnover....

But...hold on...it should not be used for full on out right conversations to get to know me...to feel me out if you are going to flake...as a pre-cursor to some bullshit you are about to say or do...or to warm me up to you actually calling...

I admit...I will text...short to the point...to answer a question..to make sure we are going to be on time....a funny joke or something I saw (many things may not need a response)

Look, I am a lover of modern technology just like everyone else...I like my gps...my yelp reviews on the fly...the modern cure for boredom while waiting in line...for emails I get all times of the night and day for work....beyond this I dont want to do much beyond this via the phone...

I would like to invent a text app that will auto respond to text messages that should not be sent....

My auto responses would be things like:

Your phone will self explode the next time you text me

If you would like to know how I am doing...pick up the phone and call me.

I do not respond to 20 questions via text, why not have this convo over coffee?

I'm sorry but your phone number is no longer stored in this phone, if you would like to verify this please dial the number to see if the person answers your call

I am busy with life, I am sorry I won't be able to respond to you now or in the future

Yeah...something like that...
