Too Late

We loved each out other as much as two people should. We really did do those magical wonderful things together that movies and fairytales are made from. It was passionate..lustful...intriguing..intelligent...it really packed a punch. But the one thing that we lacked was the endurance that it truly takes to love someone for the long haul. We did not choose to go the extra mile. As I stand here now I realize (too late) that we could have actually made it. We should have thought things through prior to making love our punching bag. I mean you can only beat it up so much without providing it with the other necessary ingredients that love demands. Understanding...respect...compassion....forgiveness....sincerity...God.
